Wide leg gauze pants are beloved for their airy drape and comfort, but gauze fabric requires gentle care to prevent snagging, excessive wrinkling, and loss of shape. Follow these steps to keep them fresh.

Pre-Wash Considerations

Always check the garment's care label first. Gauze often blends cotton, linen, rayon, or synthetics, each needing slightly different care. Sorting by color and fabric type prevents dye transfer and abrasion. Zip up zippers and button buttons to avoid snagging.

Gentle Washing Methods

Hand Wash (Recommended):

• Fill a basin or sink with cool or lukewarm water.
• Use a mild, pH-neutral detergent designed for delicates or woolens. Avoid harsh detergents and bleach.
• Submerge pants, gently swish to clean. Avoid vigorous rubbing or twisting.
• Soak for 5-10 minutes. Drain soapy water, refill with cool water, and rinse thoroughly until water runs clear.

Machine Wash (If Label Allows):

• Place pants inside a zippered mesh laundry bag for protection.
• Set the machine to the "delicate," "hand wash," or "gentle" cycle using cool or cold water.
• Use only a small amount of mild detergent.
• Wash with similar lightweight, smooth fabrics only (no jeans, towels, or items with hooks/snaps).

Drying & Shaping

Never tumble dry gauze pants. Heat causes severe shrinkage and damages delicate fibers.

• After washing, gently press excess water out without wringing. Roll pants in a clean, dry towel to absorb more moisture.
• Lay pants flat on a drying rack away from direct sunlight/heat. Smooth out wrinkles with your hands and gently tug legs back into their wide shape.
